BPX Logistics is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage accurate, compliant payroll for a distributed U.S. workforce. You will oversee payroll processing, reconciliations, and reporting in partnership with HR and Finance. This role is available as full-time or part-time and is fully remote, with workload concentrated around payroll cycles, month-end, and year-end processing.

Responsibilities

  • Process scheduled payroll cycles accurately and on time, including off-cycle payments as needed
  • Maintain payroll records for wage rates, deductions, reimbursements, and tax withholdings
  • Coordinate payroll tax filings and support resolution of agency notices in partnership with vendors and Finance
  • Support year-end processing, including W-2/1099 preparation and distribution
  • Reconcile payroll registers to accounting records and support month-end close activities
  • Partner with HR on onboarding, changes, and terminations to ensure payroll accuracy
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies with documented follow-through
  • Maintain and improve payroll procedures, controls, and documentation for audit readiness

Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience (multi-state payroll strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with payroll platforms (ADP, Paychex, Gusto, UKG, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of payroll tax rules, wage and hour fundamentals, and payroll compliance practices
  • Experience with benefits deductions, reimbursements, garnishments, and 401(k) processing
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills (reconciliation, pivots, audit-ready reporting)
  • Experience working with timekeeping systems and resolving timecard exceptions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Payroll certification (FPC/CPP) is a plus
  • Authorized to work in the United States
